the caption is slightly misleading, sorry. I just thought these two words make a great fit. At least the cake contains honey and the pictures also feature my fresh homemade almond milk. The cake for instance is super delicious. I had about three to four pieces and no guilt involved because the cake is actually healthy. It’s a rich chocolate cake and also one of the most easiest to make. I made the cake for a friends birthday dinner but I can imagine to indulge on it on a sunday afternoon with some almond milk. By now I am an expert in making my own diary free nut milk. It is so easy and so healthy because there are now preservatives involved and the milk is not heated, so it contains all the minerals and vitamins which are good for our bodies. I do not only love to drink it as it is, I also like to add it to my muesli. I’ll attach the recipes for the cake and the milk. No worries.
I love sundays. Today I am going to relax and do some paper work. In the afternoon I am having a running date with my best friend. And later we’ll have some delicious wraps for dinner. Sounds good to me.
I hope you are also enjoying your sunday. Just relax and have some chocolate cake.
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup oats
1 1/2 cups dates
2 cups cashews
2 tablespoons raw cacao
1 cup water
juice from 1/2 a lemon
1 cup dates
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the crust just put the walnuts and oats into a high speed blender. When it reaches a powder consistency add in the dates. Pulse until the dough starts to stick together. Press into your springform pan. I used a relatively small one. Put it into the fridge.
To make the cream, blend all the ingredients until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency. The cream should be quite thick and not so runny. Pour the cream onto your crust and put the cake into the freezer. Let it set over night. Before you indulge on it, defrost it for a few hours placing it in the fridge.
1 cup almonds
4 cups water
Add water to the almonds and leave them in the water for at least twelve hours or better overnight. Put the almonds into a sieve to get rid of the water. Afterwards put the almonds and the 4 cups of water into a high speed blender. Blend for one minute or more. Finally put the milk through a nut milk bag or cloth.
