here we go. This is the second part of the Helsinki travel guide. You really seemed to like part one and if you have not seen it yet please go and take a look (here). Well, day two was most definitely as exciting and beautiful as the first day. And yet it was so different and showed me an entirely different side of the city. The day turned out to be even more nature oriented and I was able to enjoy some incredible views of Helsinki in all its summery glory. I must admit, I was just very lucky with the beautiful weather.
Now on to my recommendations to make your potential journey a success as well. Starting off with food again, you should most definitely visit the small market hall right by the harbour, where the ferry departs and get yourself a fresh strawberry and coconut juice. Trust me this beverage tastes amazing. For lunch or dinner, I can only recommend to you the restaurant called Omnam. They serve vegetarian and plant-based dishes, which not only look incredibly pretty and colourful but taste equally delicious. I most definitely very much enjoyed myself.
On the second day, we didn’t do much in terms of visiting actual sights. However, the most beautiful thing was to walk along the ocean and being able to take in the incredible view. We also visited a few more places in the city centre, however, nothing amazed me more than being close to the water. Another highlight of my trip and also a major recommendation of mine is to visit the small isle Suomenlinna. Just hop on one of the ferries departing at the market square and wander around the treasure island. I can promise you the views are breathtaking and it is certainly unbelievable to find such landscapes right next to a highly developed city.
