Buying it for the gram. That’s the reasoning behind many purchases the Millennial or Gen Z has in mind when doing the next purchase. As for myself, I must say I have been falling prey to the reasoning a couple of times before. Moreover, I am definitely not immune to the in human nature ingrained wish for constant newness for satisfaction and gratification.
I want out, though. I am determined and I am already in the midst of it, to reduce my consumption drastically. One can call myself lucky since my wardrobe has been highly influenced by my Mum and therefore has always leaned towards a rather curated and timeless collection. Hence, I bought one high-quality item instead of five fast fashion items for the most part.
However, there are those times where I have felt the urge the own more clothing items to create variety in my outfit pictures that I so love to take and share. Well, I somewhat found the solution. It’s a wardrobe rental. You can either subscribe to one like HURR or Rent The Runway, or if those are not available to you, how about exchanging fashion items with your friends. I certainly had fun picking this look out of my friend’s wardrobe. She definitely owns a collection full of gems.
You could even make a fun clothing swap evening out of it or just call your friends up when you are in need of a new look. I can guarantee you – it’s truly fun to do.
